A Physician and Gastroenterologist by profession, he graduated from Army Medical College Rawalpindi in 1987. He is a fellow of College of Physicians & Surgeons Pakistan, Royal College of Physicians – Edinburgh (UK) and fellow American College of Physicians. He remained Councilor of College of Physicians & Surgeons Pakistan.
The General Officer has remained Principal of Army Medical College, the premier Medical College of the country, besides being the Advisor in Gastroenterology; Head Department of Medicine PEMH and DG Medicine at GHQ and Pro Vice Chancellor NUMS.
